Childhood flashbacks

Scene 1:
The river is flickering brightly under the sun.
This place has only appeared in my dream before and I have never thought
one day I will be in the picture myself.
My dad, my mom are standing in the river, not far from me, with their bare foot, me too.
They are bending down and following the direction they are pointing towards,
I see: wow, fish.

I don’t remember when I left the river, or maybe it was just a pond. Every day after that, for a long time, I was dreaming to go back to the place. My parents were thoughtful enough to bring some fish back, they were raised in a small transparent jar. I was so happy to see them and when seeing them, I felt that the flickering river was still with me. And I can live with the fish we brought back for the rest of life with the happy memories together. While woke up the next day, the jar is gone. I was saddened to know from my mom that they were dead already.

Scene 2:
“Osnah, how do you like the pants to be?” My grandmother is asking me. At the same time, she showed me her plan. “See, this is the cloth for the green pants”. Then she puts it down, picks up some red strips and asks, “Do you want to have this strip at the side?” “What, green and red? can they be together?” I quickly responded “No.” No further questions. In a few days, I have my pants ready. It is all green.
I don’t know what to say, it doesn’t look like a pants in my definition. My cousin, who is a little shorter than me, is trying on his at the same time. Wow, that looks gorgeous. It has strips at the side in red and white piecing together. He is definitely handsome in it. With an army style cap putting one, he is a soldier. The size matches up super well.

Next year when we grow up, we will have something new that she will design for us.
Well, I said to myself, “Next year, I gonna make careful decisions.”

Scene 3:
My mom doesn’t wear make up. Before the time make up appeared, she just used vaseline. But I know, every month, in my parents payment slip. There is something callled “appliance compensation”. It is a benefit that employees can use it towards daily appliances from the superstore owned by the same company. Thus we have endless supplies of tissue paper, soaps. That’s the main thing my mom will purchase with it. There are times I take the tissues out, laying them out under my feet, trying to make it carpet. But by no means, it will look like a carpet. One day, my dad walked me to the store, asking me how to spend the balance. The store is pretty small, a brief view, I get to know what all they have. The facial products caught my eye. During the time with limited circulated products, their decoration still looks the most stunning among all the rest. I grabbed everything they have, lotion, creams. That’s all they have. One of each of them certainly can’t use out the rest of the balance, then my dad asked me, what we do next. Then I quickly come out with a solution, I started getting the 2nd of each of them. And shortly, we met our goal.
