Every year in British Columbia, the third week in November is proclaimed as Multiculturalism Week.
This is a time to celebrate the contributions of our multicultural communities and to appreciate the way diversity enriches British Columbia. Multiculturalism strengthens our province and highlights our societal values of inclusion and cultural diversity.
Since 2022 Culture Chats has been celebrating a Multicultural Arts Event inviting community artists to participate and celebrate together. Various multicultural performers make this a delightful mesmerizing event each year with their beautiful performances from around the world and colorful costumes as well as melodious music. Displays are set up to exhibit local multicultural arts and crafts and this is celebrated as a free community event. Speakers are also invited to share personal stories of multiculturalism in practice as experienced and practised by community leaders and some of these success stories are truly a heartwarming reminder of the benefits of Multiculturalism.
Culture Chats BC Association is a not-for-profit association promoting multicultural connections and community engagement. More information at http://www.culturechats.org[/bsf-info-box]
