What better way to start the new year than a visit to our nearest bookstore.. Chapters, Indigo.. they describe themselves as the world’s first cultural department store for booklovers..and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon there.
I find that bookstores are exciting and relaxing at the same time.. they ground you and make you feel like you belong in that neighbourhood..it is a cozy happy feeling. My little one could feel it too as he browsed happily losing himself in the shelves ha ha.
I was looking for a bit of inspiration and one novella that caught my attention..The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly by Hwang, Son-mi. It is about ‘a hen named Sprout who comes up with a plan to escape into the wild–and to hatch an egg of her own’.
Perhaps we will include something like this in our reading list for 2017. Hopefully we will manage to select a varied and interesting range that offers something fascinating for all our members!
