The fourth annual B.C. Book Day was celebrated on March 8th. It was a celebration of the successful local literary artists and publishing players of BC. The provincial government highlighted the over 1000 book titles that BC brings out. Local authors and local stories are promoted through events and celebrations such as this which was also supported by the Association of Book Publishers of BC (ABPBC). The ABPBC reiterated the numerous books locally written and they offer recommendations on their website. This year the date coincided with International Women’s Day; so the recommendations feature books by and for women to mark the occasion.
Everybody has a story to tell so maybe this day will inspire each reader to pen their own story!
